A Note On The Last Maximum Ride Book.

So I just finished the final book in the maximum ride series. I can not even tell you how much i cried at the end. this book series has been a part of my life for the last 7 years and I would like to thank James patterson for blessing me the best book series i have ever read. I will never forget the amazing journeys of max, fang, iggy, nudge, gazzy, angel, and even Dylan. I loved how any part with max and fang would instantly make me cry and make me happy or sad at the same time. I am sad to see this amazing series end, but I am definitely pleased with the final outcome. Now that it is over, i will start the whole series over again and cry 10 times harder. I am so overwhelmed with emotion right now. I love you, bird kids. Thank you for your amazing story. Yes, I am aware this blog has nothing to do with music but I felt the need to post this. Thanks - Kinsey

10 Years Minus The Machine Album Review

Like other 10 Years fans, I was super stoked for Minus The Machine. I had some high expectations because Feeding The Wolves is one of those albums that only comes around once or twice in a life time. It is one of my all time favorite albums and always will be. That album helped me through numerous hard times and I can sing every word to every song. I hoped that Minus The Machine would be the same way. So I started listening and I was pleasantly surprised.
  1. Minus The Machine - I love the opening guitar. The chorus is so full of energy. I can see this as a potential opening song and I see the crowd freaking out and starting a pit! I know this song makes me want to mosh.
  2. Battle Lust - This song reminded me of Waking Up The Ghost from Feeding The Wolves. The lyrics in this song really hit me emotionally. I do not really have a reason why. I also really like the drums at the end.
  3. Forever Fields (Sowing Season) - Whoever plays the piano has my heart and Jesse's voice makes me cry because it is just so beautiful. When/If I hear this live, I will cry. I also love where this song is placed on the album. It is slow at the beginning and think that is pretty dang cool.
  4. Backlash - The first time I heard this song was on Monster Energy's website. I listened to it for hours. This song really got me stoked for this album and I can see epic mosh pits at future 10 Years shows during this. To put this song into slang terms, "It Goes Hard." It reminds me of The Wicked Ones from FTW.
  5. Writing On The Walls - That sounds like a ukulele at the beginning. Even if it is not, the opening is still awesome. Jesse has one of those voices that I can pick out anywhere and that really shows in this song. I love the "I Won't Let You Bury Me" lyric.
  6. Dancing With The Dead - Reminds me of Chasing The Rapture from FTW. The lyrics remind me of the saying "Come At Me, Bro!" It has that fight song tone to it. If I were to ever get into a fight, I would play this song. I have no idea if that is what 10 Years was going for, but oh well ;)
  7. Sleeper - This song starts out slow, but when it goes into the chorus, it transforms into this amazing sound that makes me want to sing at the top of my teenage lungs.
  8. Soma - I love this. That is all.
  9. Tightrope - This was not my favorite song on the album, but it would definitely be a killer live song. I absolutely love the lyrics
  10. Knives - This song is probably my favorite on this album. The beginning is heavy. It reminds me of All Your Lies from Division and Empires from The Autumn Effect. Jesse's screams are drop dead sexy!!!
  11. Birth -- Death - On my first listen, it took me a minute to realize that this was an instrumental song. It sounds really serious and Holy Cow, a violin!
  12. ... And All The Other Colors - Surprisingly, this song reminds me of Wasteland from The Autumn Effect and Backlash. I got sad when I heard this song because I realized it was the last song on the album. The voices at the end actually scared me.
And just like that, the album was over. I can tell the guys worked really hard on this album. It is a little bit softer than I expected, but that is just fine with me. I also love how almost all of the songs flow into each other. It basically sounds like one big song and that rocks. I highly recommend this album and I suggest everyone go buy it RIGHT NOW!!! :)

Kiss, Motley Crue, and The Treatment 7/31/12 Birmingham, Alabama

If you had asked me a year ago if I thought I would be seeing Motley Crue for a second time, I would have called you crazy. I thought the first time would be the only time. I guess I was wrong. My cousin and one of my friends accompanied me on the two hour journey to see Kiss and MC. Earlier in the day, it rained and the whole front section by the stage was flooded in the amphitheater. There were even rumors that show was   going to be cancelled. This would have really upset me. I am not big on hair metal but I love Motley and a lot of time and money went into the trip. Luckily, the only problem we had was parking because half of the parking lot had been flooded. We finally found parking and we walked in and went to our seats. The first band was called The Treatment. They were from England and they were decent. Their accents were the cutest things ever. They played
World On Fire
Get The Party On
I Fear Nothing
The Doctor
Departed
Nothing To Lose But Our Minds
Shake The Mountain

After them was Motley Crue, the main reason I went. They played

Saints of Los Angeles
Wild Side
Shout at the Devil
Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)
Sex
Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)
Home Sweet Home
Drum Solo
Guitar Solo
Live Wire
Primal Scream
Dr. Feelgood
Girls, Girls, Girls
Kickstart My Heart
Vince Neil sounded sick which caused his voice to be really off, but other than that, it was a great performance.

I am not a fan of Kiss but they played

Detroit Rock City
Shout It Out Loud
I Love It Loud
Firehouse (Gene breathes fire)
Love Gun (Paul flies into the crowd)
War Machine
Shock Me (Tommy and Eric jam)
Hell or Hallelujah
Bass Solo (Gene spits blood and flies)
God of Thunder
Lick It Up
Black Diamond (short Paul guitar solo)
Rock and Roll All Nite

It was a fun show and I got to meet The Treatment afterwards. :)
