Falling In Reverse Zydeco Birmingham, AL 4/29/13

Falling In Reverse in Birmingham the night after Papa Roach in Mobile? Don’t mind if I do. At first, I debated going to this show because of all of the Ronnie drama. Then I reminded myself, “It’s not about the drama. It’s about the music.” So I bought my ticket. I did not have to work that day so I left immediately after school and got there around 4:45. I got inside a little after seven, so luckily it was not too hot outside. There had to have been less than a hundred people there the entire night, which made the show really awesome because I was in the front on the barricade! The first band of the night was from Nashville. They were called Voodoo Prophets. They were not my favorite and they were very out of place. They covered an Iron Maiden song and a Lamb of God song. The next band was American Fang. They were from Texas and they were a lot better than the previous band. They were a little more in place than the first band. Then it was time for Falling In Reverse. Before they started, the whole crowd started a “RONNIE RONNIE RONNIE” chant. It made me feel bad for the other people in the band, but they are probably used to it. They played
I'm Not a Vampire
Sink or Swim
Good Girls Bad Guys (Yes!)
Rolling Stone (New song)
Raised By Wolves
Born To Lead (New song)
Tragic Magic (My favorite. The whole crowd sang the LA-LA-LALALA part and it was awesome. )
Goodbye Graceful (Yes!)
Situations (OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! Ronnie walked out and said this is a song called Situations and me, and everyone else in the room, freaked out. I have wanted to hear this song live for a long time.)
The Drug In Me Is You (Some young girls threw their bras on stage and Ronnie said “No wonder everyone thinks I’m a fucking pedophile!” and he threw the bras back to them)

This show was definitely fun and I am so glad that I went. As far as all the drama is concerned, I think everyone underestimates Ronnie. He is a great, charismatic person and I really hope more people can realize that. Props to you, Mr. Radke.

Papa Roach, Escape The Fate, and Cathercist Soul Kitchen Mobile, AL 4/28/13

What did I do when I found out that Papa Roach was coming to Mobile? I bought tickets. What did I do when I found out that a band on my “List of bands to see before I die”, Escape The Fate, is the opener? I cried. Holy cow, I was freaking stoked. I arrived at the show about 3 hours early so I could get my spot in the front. I would say that one person away from the barricade is not bad at all. The first band of the night was from Gulfport, Mississippi. They were called Cathercist. They were just OK and all of their songs sounded the same. One interesting part of their set was the guitarist playing a hello kitty guitar and crowd surfing. The singer also had on a Pierce The Veil shirt so those few things were redeeming qualities of the set. They probably would have been more enjoyable if the show did not start as late as it did because by that point, the crowd was getting restless. The next band was Escape The Fate. Cue Kinsey freak out!!! They played
Choose Your Fate
You're Insane
10 Miles Wide (“We are going to go back to a record called This War Is Ours!!! One of my favorites!!!)
Issues
Ungrateful (New song that will be on the new record that comes out on May 14th)
Gorgeous Nightmare (HECK YES!!! My song! They dedicated this to the girls in the audience.)
Fire It Up (another new song that was dedicated to Craig’s friend “Whiskey”)
This War Is Ours (The Guillotine Part II)
At some point during the set, Craig said “I thinks this is the first time we have ever played Alabama, which is weird because my grandfather was born and raised here. He was a drinker too so he could have had his own state. It’s a different world down here.” I could not help but laugh because he got the stereotype quite accurate.

Then it was Papa Roach time. I had not seen them in almost two years and it was in a festival setting. It was a great show, but it is hard to beat a big band in a small venue. Especially in Soul Kitchen. The band came out freaking rocked it. They played (Close to the right order)
Burn (A song from Time For Annihilation! Yes!!!)
...To Be Loved (opening tag was Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones)
Getting Away With Murder
Alive (N' Out of Control)
Blood Brothers
Forever (Guy standing next to me pointed at his wife and Jacoby dedicated the song to them and to all the dirty girls in the room)
Silence Is the Enemy
Between Angels and Insects
Where Did the Angels Go?
Give Me Back My Life (YAY!!! Favorite song on The Connection!)
Before I Die (this song was heart wrenching live and Jacoby got on the barricade and sang it to the crowd.)
Scars (Throughout the whole night, Jacoby kept telling us it was going to be a special night. He told us that Papa Roach was part of the Make A Wish Foundation then two boys were rolled out in wheelchairs. He dedicated this song to them. He high-fived them and hugged them throughout the song and it was so sweet. It almost made me cry because of the level of sweetness.)
Still Swinging (Yes!!! Jacoby ran down in the front really close to me! He had trouble getting back on stage. It was humorous.)
Dead Cell
Lifeline
Last Resort

I swear Jacoby was a monkey in a past life. He even had a “retro hairdo” to match. He moved around so much and it was difficult to get many good pictures of him, but that was fine. :) The show was thoroughly enjoyable and the crowd was actually decent so it was ten times more exciting because of it!
