Jason Isbell Sea Grass Festival Dauphin Island, AL 8/30/14

Dauphin Island and Jason Isbell: what a pair.

He played

Flying Over Water
Tour of Duty
Decoration Day
Streetlights
Different Days
Codeine
Live Oak
Alabama Pines
Travelling Alone
Cover Me Up
Relatively Easy
Outfit
Mutineer (Warren Zevon Cover)
Super 8

During this show we saw Amanda Shires play with the 400 Unit and we saw a marriage proposal in between Traveling Alone and Cover Me Up. The highlights of the evening definitely came from Outfit and Super 8.

What a show.

Linkin Park, 30 Seconds To Mars, & AFI Charlotte, North Carolina Carnivores Tour 8/12/14

Two of my favorite bands are playing in Charlotte? That's the closest date? ROAD TRIPPPP!!! I hopped in my Corolla and drove 10 hours to Charlotte. AFI and Linkin Park playing together? I had not seen my two of my favorite bands together since the Green Day and AFI tour of 2010. Freaking stoked.

AFI rocked it as always. They played

The Leaving Song Pt. II
Girl's Not Grey
I Hope You Suffer
Love Like Winter
Medicate
17 Crimes
The Days of the Phoenix
Silver and Cold
Miss Murder

This was the first time I had seen 30STM and I thought it would be a lot better than it actually was. Jared Leto really just needs to shut up and sing. Do not worry about stage theatrics. They "played"

Up In The Air
Night of the Hunter
Search and Destroy
This Is War
Conquistador
Kings and Queens
Do or Die
City of Angels
End of All Days
(Acoustic)
Hurricane
From Yesterday
The Kill (Bury Me)
Closer To The Edge

After that terrible set, I was ready for quality entertainment. I had not seen Linkin Park since Projekt Revolution 2008 and I was beyond ready.

The set was great. They played

Mashup Intro #2 (w/ Session, 1stp Klosr, The Requiem, The Summoning, The Catalyst, Guilty All The Same)
Guilty All the Same
Given Up
With You
One Step Closer
Blackout  (Intro and Partial Bridge Instrumental Only; Ext. Papercut Beat Outro Transition)
Papercut  (No Second Verse or Second Chorus)
Rebellion
Runaway (Through First Chorus Only; Outro Transition with Wastelands Verse 1)
Wastelands
Castle of Glass (Experience Version w/ Recharged Version's parts; Piano Transition Outro)
Leave Out All the Rest / Shadow of the Day / Iridescent  (Ballad Medley)
Robot Boy (Intro, Synth Bridge, and Ending Instrumental Only)
Joe Hahn Solo (w/ Victimized (Mike Shinoda Remix), Buy Myself, Cure for the Itch, Session, Plc.4 Mie Haed)
Numb (Numb/Encore False Start/Outro)
Waiting for the End (Apaches Intro w/ Until It Breaks V2; Wall of Noise Outro)
Final Masquerade
Wretches and Kings / Remember the Name (Remember the Name verse 2 & Chorus)
Dirt Off Your Shoulder / Lying From You (Jay-Z and Linkin Park cover) (Tour debut)
Somewhere I Belong (Tour debut)
In the End
Faint

Encore:

Burn It Down (Shortened; no second verse)
Lost in the Echo (Shortened, No Second Verse, Second Chorus or Bridge)
New Divide (Shortened, No First Chorus or Second Verse)
Until It's Gone (Ext. Intro w/ With You Verse 1; Shortened)
What I've Done (Extended Solo Bridge)
Bleed It Out (Ext. Intro; Ext. Bridge w/ Drum Solo + The Catalyst Refrain; Ext. Ending)

This show left me without a voice and it was almost perfect. It would have been even better had they played Place For My Head. Maybe on the next tour...
