I had the opportunity to shoot the 2015 Voodoo Music Festival in New Orleans for RockRevolt Magazine. Enjoy these shots! They are very special to me.

Jason Isbell Foothills Festival Jasper, AL 9/13/14

Jason Isbell always brings it live.

Foothills Festival in Jasper was no different.

I have seen Isbell so many times over the last few years and I am always left blown away.

There are not many musicians I would leave an Alabama Football game early for, but Jason Isbell makes the list.

I made it to Jasper just in time for Isbell.

He played

Stockholm
Flying Over Water
Tour Of Duty
Dress Blues
Go It Alone
Streetlights
Decoration Day
Heart on String
Different Days
Travelling Alone
Live Oak
Alabama Pines
Cover Me Up
Relatively Easy
New South Wales
Codeine
Outfit
Danko/Manuel
Super 8

Encore:

Never Gonna Change!

We got almost every song off Southeastern, which is the best album. Duh.

During the show, he talked about a girl he "dated" in the 4th grade who moved to Jasper. He never talked to her again.

He then proceeded to talk about Alabama Football and the local high school football team, which made the crowd erupt into laughter.

Can Isbell play here again soon? Gosh.

During this show we saw Amanda Shires play with the 400 Unit and we saw a marriage proposal in between Traveling Alone and Cover Me Up. The highlights of the evening definitely came from Outfit and Super 8.

What a show.

Shaky Knees Music Festival Atlanta, GA May 9-11, 2015

My volunteer experience at Shaky Knees was a great way to get involved in a different festival aspect. The biggest highlight from a volunteer aspect was being able to work in artist catering. While I could not talk to the artists unless I was spoken to, it was interesting to see how they act when they are not in the spotlight. From a fan standpoint, seeing Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day play with the Replacements was wonderful. The best up-and-coming band was definitely American Aquarium. That is all I will say about that. They are wonderful. I cannot wait for next year's line-up and I expect this festival to grow beyond this year's capacity.

Jason Isbell. Tuscaloosa. Walking distance from my dorm. Hell. Yes. This post really does not need more of an opening than that. In my 100% percent biased opinion Jason Isbell always puts on a kick ass show. Instead of wasting your time, I will just let the setlist speak for itself.
