Day two of fall break was something that I have waited for
since I was probably six or seven years old. It was the day I would finally get
to see Nine Inch Nails. My early teenage self was also as excited for Paramore
as well. Paramore was up first for my night. Like I implied earlier, I have
listened to them since my tween/early teen years, since their first album. They
played
Fast In My Car
That's What You Get
Decode
Ignorance (My jam)
Now
Daydreaming
Last Hope
Brick By Boring Brick
Ain't It Fun
The Only Exception (Hayley played piano)
Pressure
Misery Business
Part II
Still Into You
Then, it was finally time for my childhood dream of seeing
Nine Inch Nails. I was on the barricade too, so I could see! When Trent Reznor
walked on stage, all I could do was stare at him. It was one of those surreal
moments that is hard to put into words. The lights were trippy. If you are
prone to seizures, I do not recommend going to see NIN. The whole stage setup
is way ahead of its time, technologically speaking. Pictures do not do it
justice and from where I was standing, I could not see the whole thing. I could
barely see Trent
once the show started because the fog was so thick and the lights were so
bright and flashy. They played
Copy Of A
1,000,000
Terrible Lie (Yeah!)
March Of The Pigs
Piggy
All Time Low
Disappointed
Came Back Haunted
Find My Way
Various Methods Of Escape
The Frail
The Wretched
The Big Come Down
Survivalism (ONE OF TWO SONGS THEY PLAYED OFF MY FAVORITE
NIN ALBUM)
Wish
I'm Afraid of Americans (David Bowie Cover)
Only (YES! ONE OF MY FAVORITES)
The Hand That Feeds
Head Like A Hole (The first NIN song I remember hearing. Best
crowd response of the night)
(Encore:)
Reptile
Even Deeper
In This Twilight (THE OTHER SONG THEY PLAYED OFF MY FAVORITE
ALBUM)
While I'm Still Here
Black Noise
Hurt (Cue my tears)
The only question that was left on everyone's minds
including my own, was "Why in the hell did they not play Closer?"
That did not affect my NIN experience though. The only thing (for me) that
could have made it better would have been if they played "Capital G."
But that's ok. You cannot always hear them all. :)
